So after doing a deal with a certain Patricks148 which saw me obtain a Mizuno F50 3w head in return for pulling a couple of shafts from other clubs for him, I decided to breathe some new life in to it's paint work.
Now, I have never tried anything like this before so wasn't really that sure on what I was doing but soon found that most of it was common sense and patience.
I set about removing the old paint and got it back to this state;

I liked the look of the carbon insert but new that fading paint to get it to match the "old" look was beyond my capabilities, so I decided to make it unique in another way, this is what I came up with as a finished article;

Getting the run bird was quite difficult and so I am not overly concerned that it didn't come out 100% sharp as a first attempt but know now how to do it better for future.
I also removed the old paint fill on the club ID and loft numbers and repainted them white and ultra marine blue which I felt was a nice touch (well, personally) and nod to staff colours;

Overall, as a very first attempt at repainting and customizing, I think that it's not too bad.
I have a Fubuki shaft ready to go in to it once the lacquer is fully cured (4 coats so probably about a week's time).
Got plans for a MP Titanium 3+ that I also got from Patrick as part of the deal but now I have the taste for it, looking to do something really unique...
Amazing what you find golf related to keep you going in the winter months :thup:
