Anyone use it? Is this similar to Apple TV where all it offers is the ability to cast to a tells and has apps like you tube and Netflix?

I'm led to believe you can access films for free etc directly on it but can't really find that much out so can someone in laymans terms fill me in with how it works

We have it and it works pretty well for what we use it for. Kids use it for youtube and music. I've heard that if you get a certain app you can stream films for free but have been told that sometimes they are hit and miss.

I bought it for my dad, primarily so he could cast BT sport from his laptop. Great! Apart from the fact, BT Sport doesn't work with Chrome!!

I personally have a Roku, don't use for casting, but Now TV and Netflix. Although that stick is now in my girls room as my new BluRay has all that shizzle built in.

In laymans terms, if your are using Chrome as a browser, you can get that video and sound sent to your TV wirelessly. Thats the premise.

U need to decide whether you want to send stuff to your TV from your laptop, or basically make your TV a "Smart TV" with netflix, youtube etc etc.. Chrome for the first, Roku for the second IMHO.

I've got a Roku USB stick. It's good but I would say the UI is a bit slow and clunky sometimes. Occasionally it hangs too.
