Well after many many years subscribing it is time to say goodbye to Sky Sports. The political will to ensure that sports are split over several providers means that there is just no point any more. It was OK when it was ESPN as I got that free with Virgin but that is not the case with BT Sport. Paying for 2 channels is just a not excessive for the amount of sport I get to watch.

I mainly subscribe for the rugby and it is just madness that the 2 premium competitions are on different subscriber channels. How is this of benefit to fans. The other main attraction is the cricket but I now prefer to listen to TMS.

Next year the Heineken Cup may also go to BT and then I may consider subscribing but for now I am not paying neatly £400 a year to only be able to see half of the matches I want to

I may come running back to Sky in a couple of weeks as it will be odd not to have it but we shall see.

I couldn't be without Sky Sports but good luck

I really want to cancel mine as it is a rip off,but I'm the same as u mate.
Plus if I cancelled I'd end up going to the pub more to watch football so it'd end up costing me more:angry:

We never seem to win wit Sky. Think they have 10,000,000 subscribers so increasing b £1.50 per month, does not sound much, brings in 180 million extra revenue per annum.

Isaid I was goin to cancel and they offe me a discount of 25 % for 6 months or 20% for 9.

Always worth a try

Got shot of mine after the lions tour. I'm not really into football, the rugby has gone and the European golf is poor. I'd watch a bit of PGA tour but I always fall asleep watching it:o

I listen to the test match on tms. I admit to missing it a bit after tigers round on Friday but its not great value if you're not into football.

The films have gone too, the constant repeats annoyed me!

Sky Movies went months back as its all repeats and all decent films are through box office anyway. I couldn't be without the sports channels though i do watch a lot of football, a shed load of golf and watch a lot of ESPN America as I love watching baseball.

I also watch a lot of Serie A games on ESPN due to my family links to Florence and its good to be able to follow La Viola as well as watching a fair bit of bundesliga action as i got hooked on it when living in Germany. Actually now i think of it the amount of sport i watch its lucky or unlucky that HID hasn't left me yet.

Got rid of Sky altogether last year and I must admit it was hard to get used to at first but after a couple of months do not miss it one bit. Watch DVD's mainly now but it is amazing the stuff you find to do when not glued to the TV all the time

Moving house in December and it comes set up for Virgin (Redrow have done a deal to get the whole development covered). Looking at dropping Sky and swapping to Virgin for everything. Sky seem to be adding a few quid to the bill every few months now. Currently have BT broadband so can get the new channels so it isn't an issue at the moment.

I had ESPN on virgin for this and the NHL but they stopped the NHL and now I have no ESPN anymore anyway! Rubbish!

(Who's your team btw I'm a blue jays fan)

When we moved home we move away from Sky as our provider to Virgin and best thing we ever did as the Sky Customer service we had was always crap, the broadband was poor and prices changed more than my underwear.... Get superfast speeds now on broadband and never had any interruption's to service that we always had with Sky and not one price increase yet.

Well seems I no longer have ESPN either as I just went to watch it and shows no longer available to virgin! Grrr.. Have to stream my viewing now and after what I just wrote above to Homer! Oh well.... Back to your MLB question that would be the Atlanta Braves for me been following them for quite some time now and having a good season so far.

I couldn't be without Sky Sports. It's expensive, but I couldn't be without it for football, Rugby and the NFL. Bit gutted the Aviva Prem is now on BT, but such is life. Just have to go to more games at Kingsholm.

Left Sky for Virgin some time ago, would agree with all of your comments, but disappointed to find that ESPN had vanished. Can't say I'm a huge MLB fan, enjoy watching it but it's not an essential, will keep an eye on the Cubs progress in future having been to Wrigley Field this year.
