McIlroy snap hooks one and smashes a huge divot in the ground with his driver (the juniors will LOVE that!)

Rose knifes one outta the bunker and Kaymer flubbs his chip

quality stuff!

Greens look crap, flooding up with just a little bit of rain. Scoring is rubbish.

All sounds just like my game!

Nice to see the distances coming down aswell, McDowell had 185YRDS yesterday... 4 iron.

Yeh I saw that... and he came up short.

It's all a far cry from the USA golf we're used to watching..... much more like nobbing it round your local muni and hoping to shoot under 100 :D

Good to see the pros playing in the conditions we endure week in week out. Some clearly coping better than others. Think Mr Marmite (Westwood) in a prime position and with a load of big names going home he could be one to watch.

It's great to see good coverage of the European Golfers as opposed to the odd shot of them on the PGA tour! It does look tough, I heard the commentator say the head green keeper is 66 days behind schedule. It's amazing bit looks as good as it does!

How come after your title you don't mention anyone who was born in England? ;)

There has been a SERIOUS amount of rain over the last 2 days, so not surprised to see some flooding. I would have thought they'd have put the pins in slightly higher places than where they were on a couple of greens though -13 for example was in the valley at the front which is where surface water from the entire greens runs to!

I was there Wednesday - it was a pleasure to be roped in to score on Quiros's group of ladies - and the course was probably in better condition than I've ever seen it - including the greens. I don't think any inland course in Britain is in better nick. That's one of the advantages of links courses. As long as the greens are fast and true, the rest of the course pretty much looks after itself.

Maybe the solution is to have The Open in May and The PGA in July!

Westwood seems to be the Englishman to follow though.
