On a positive note, HID recently went through some turbulent times in work and long and short, left and was feeling fed up with life. She struggled a tad to get a suitable role in her field (HR) but has now secured a new role, in the NHS at the same trust as me.

She's so excited and it's a world away from anything she's done but looking forward to the challenge. We worked together decades ago so not something new and to be honest our roles are separate here. It'll just be nice to have her here (and of course no more walks to the station in the wet in winter).

Anyone else got any good news stories to share??????

Well done Mrs Homer, anything that gives you both a better quality of life should be embraced, careful though she may end up as your boss😃

Good news for Homer me finks, after all a happy wife = a happy life.

Good news for me, Ma and Pa outta the country for two weeks. Peace and quite, apart from going to the house every two days to water tomatoes, grapes, cucumbers, cactus inc baby cactus ( who has cacti in 2016). Start car up and get it ticking over.

I've been signed off work for a few weeks - yesterday I got a big package delivered by courier. Turns out it's a nice big food and wine goodies hamper from my work! Totally unexpected and much appreciated.

My 2 fav bands (James + the Charlatans) sharing a set, for 1 night only 😀

oh, an it's only about 4 miles away 😆😆

I bought some new wellies the other day for walking the dog. Hand made French ones made from proper rubber, you would not believe the difference to what I've had before. Bring on the rain.
