Just finished reading "no hiding in the Open" by John Hoskison, going very cheap on Kindle
Just published
Story of a very good Club Pro who played on the tour in the 70s/80s alongside some of the big names

Really well written, we would understand a lot of the things he had to deal with , and some really funny stories.
Also an unexpected ending

Probably the best golf book I have read in a very long time- highly recommended

Apparently he did a load of articles for GM a decade play ago -would be interesting to see if they could be unearthed anywhere.

I read this a few weeks ago, very interesting read, and as you say an unexpected ending. Went on to read his other (non golf) books, also worth a read albeit on a not so fun topic

Ive just recognised the authors name their John Hoskinson. When I was caddying on the Seniors John was in our group at The Western Homes Classic at Stoke By Nayland.A really nice modest guy with a lot of game, I seem to remember him having a very pretty caddy which always helps ;)

He did a few articles for golf magic and is an occasional poster on the forum. Comes across as a very nice guy who tells a good story, and I think he still competes on the seniors tour

Cheers for the heads up - just invested in a Kindle a few weeks back, so looking for more stuff to chuck at it. Will give this one a go.

Thanks

If someone has an old copy of Bob Rotella's books or something like Fearless golf then do share.. I havent read any, but being a scrooge on it. Will read and return the copy.
