Hoo-rah!

I'm turning 30 very soon and as such the Mrs has been asking me what I'd like as a present. Once the obvious sexual innuendo was dismissed (quickly) she's decided to book me in for a putter fitting and new putter next Wednesday at Moor Allerton Golf club!! Shabba!

I go through putters at an alarming rate, but knowing this one will be custom fit, and bought by the Mrs, hopefully it'll stick in the bag for years to come. There'll be no ebaying this one, other wise my jewels will be in a jar. Literally.

My wife did the same for me for my 30th last year. The putter is still there while everything else has been changed out.

I was reading your fitting thread a few weeks ago Gareth, she was obviously keenly observing! Looking forward to it, got fitted for irons there in January and had a blast. Going with an open mind to try anything and everything.

Are you going to Clubhouse for your fitting?

If you do, give them a ring before you go and ask if Peter is available to fit you when you go. He is a PGA pro and knows his apples when it comes to fitting!
 
No, going back to Moor Allerton GC, it's only 10mins away and the service I got when fitted for my G20's was great without any pressure to buy.
 
We have been saving as we are moving house and so although I had muted on here and to the wife I wanted a new set up this year and be fully custom fitted I was beginning to think it might be irons and maybe driver at best. Turns out she has racked up some overtime and is getting a bonus. Are you still getting new clubs she asked tonight? Possibly said I. Well why not use my bonus and O/T and find somehwere to get fitted. No arguments here. Just need to shorten to list of suspects

Tsped have you played at Moor Allerton?

I got fitted by Peter for my irons last year and can vouch for Gareth's recomendation, he's superb.

You will be questioning whether there is a woman's one next! With space for pink wafers or some other girly biscuit. Everyone knows, the biggest commercial market is male right handers with hob nobs... ;)

That's a shame mate as its a really nice course, its 27 holes but 10-27 are definitely the better 18.

Our club has a reciprocal arrangement with Moor Allerton and we can play there twice a year for free.
