Hi again just a quick question - does anyone know about some good golf novels? You know the good inspiring stuff like The Legend of Bagger Vance?? I keep reading the golf mags cover to cover in a week and left twiddling my thumbs at night...

Thanks in advance.

not really golf..but life related.

Zen - The Path Of The Human Being.

Really makes you think about life in a different way. You have to have an open mind when reading it.

It may help you with your golf. It goes into how you react to certain things and then says...... why???

I'm not spiritual or nothing so don't everyone start on me, just passing on a good read.

Peace.

I agree with the Rotella suggestion - Golf is Not a Game of Perfect makes it all so simple to understand and helped me enormously. But I think you are more after a read than instruction.

Try 4 Iron in the Soul by Lawrence Donegan for one. I love stuff like this that gives an insight, some inspiration and some narrative. Bring Me the Head of Sergio Garcia gets good reviews, but I found the author to be a little too self deprecating personally. I'm currently reading Preferred Lies by Andrew Greig, which presents a very different perspective of golf which is more about the human condition and the beauty and simplicity of the game we love.

Good luck and make some recommendations back if you find them - Always on the lookout for a good golf book!

I am currently readin Grand Slam by Mark Foster which is a great book about Bobby Jones. Its not too hard a read and offers a great insight into the history of the game and some good stories and tales! Its a book which you can pick easily if you don't read it for a whilse aswell.

I'd also recommend The Greatest Game Ever Played which is also by Mark Foster but in my opinion isn't as good as Grand Slam.

Got my vote! For inspiration just read the Lance Armstrong books or the book about James Cracknell / Ben Foggle rowing the Atlantic, its a great read!
