Played today in my regular social stableford 4 ball. We use a betterball but count both on par 3s and the 18th all good golf banter fun!!

We use the scores that my golfshot app spits out and keep a manual total. Some controversy in that the scorecard we were given out by the pro shop (same as on their website) had different stroke indexes than my golfshot app.

I know SI can change (are they adjusted each year?) and some matched on both the app and the card but some were significantly different. Hole 16 for example is SI 8 on the card but SI 16 on the app!!

My mate uses hole 19 which seemed to agree with the club card.

Any thoughts? I guess the club card is de facto? Time to get a more accurate/up to date app?

Thought so, but app 'appears' to be up to date, although there is a function to take a picture and send in an updated score card which I have done. Still cant get how a hole can change so much in SI.

SI isn't really about how hard a hole is, more about how to distribute the giving of shots across the round evenly. You've done what you can re golfshot.

I know other aspects come into play when assigning SI but I am intrigued by such a big shift, it could of course be a simple typo, hole 16 with SI 16?
