Does anyone have any experience of Golfshakes Unofficial Handicap Cards or similar, have you had these cards accepted or unaccepted anywhere. I don't intend joining a club in the near future and was wondering if these types of cards are worthwhile.

i asked about playing Sunningdale with one and they said they only accept official club handicaps!

As Dando alludes, if a club wants a handicap cert then it's not a solution - but many nowadays aren't overly concerned and don't require anything.

It won't get you into open comps requiring a handicap certificate and some clubs "may" get funny but as there doesn't seem to be the call to produce these when visiting other clubs these days it shouldn't matter. Just remember it's not official

Only ever been asked for a certificate at junior opens and by the starter at St Andrews. Would imagine these external ones hold next to zero value with the types of club likely to ask

Here is a link that hopefully helps answer the question you posed.

It's not a congu handicap so entry to Open comps and the like wouldn't be allowed but as you can see there are many prestigious clubs that are happy to accept business from golfshake handicap holders as they represent committed golfers. Always worth checking up before hand.good golfing.:)
