Firstly, I was wonder if anybody is on GolfShake? I was recommended it by a friend and it seems ok, it's a good way to record your scores and review your rounds. I was surprised there isn't a GM group or something! If anybody is on there, feel free to add me - John Sneddon, Hertfordshire.
Secondly, I played my third full round ever today at Whitewebbs in Greater London. A few of you know that i'm very much a beginner and after being plauged with a vicious slice off the tee on my previous round(108 with 10 lost balls, TEN!!!) I spoke to my pro about the problem.
Apparently I'm not turning my wrists enough in my shots, so I tried to work on it today and managed to cure the slice somewhat. This resulted in my first sub 100 round with a 98 on a Par 68, Net 70.
Also managed to net my first ever birdie!! I hit a straight 3 wood down the centre of the fairway before following it up with an 8 that landed 4 foot away from the pin. I hit the putt strongly - it threatened to lip out, but thankfully held! Fantastic feeling!
Just wanted to share my happiness and I hope it wasn't a fluke!
