If I'm going to be cast asunder for visiting TG I might as well be hung for a sheep than a lamb. Golfpunk. Where has it gone? I've not seen a new issue for ages. I know MikeH said something about it switching to bi-monthly but it must have been more than two months since the last issue?

I'm not overly fussed as I rarely buy it but I just wondered if it had gone under.

mmmmm.......I have to say I enjoy it when I do buy it but then again I also like a sneaky look at Nuts,Loaded,FHM etc but I have also in my time been known as an a-holes who's been kicked out a few places for drunken yobbishness!

Am I right in saying Phil Babb had something to do with it...owner or something?

Have to confess I bought an issue as I started getting into the game in October. Thought it was ok, (now know it is pretty average) and checked website to see the release date of next issue going backwards and backwards - seems from a quick glance at the forum they are having cash flow issues. Shame to see a magazine go under but not surprised some are struggling.

Since the death of GP following my first and only purchase (god, hope it wasn't my fault) I picked up a couple of Todays Golfer - only 2, the 2nd issue was the same as the first!

Now switched to Golf Monthly and also quite like Golf world.

There is a lot in GolfPunk I didn't like, but once you got past the yobishness in places it was quite refereshing in that it didn't aproach things the same way every other mag does.

Very occasionally it would have one or two things in it worth buying it for, especially some of the player interviews.

Thing is that although it had or has, (depending on whether its still with us) a refresshing outlook, there really was very little useful content in amoungst all the glitz. For instance, they'd show you a new piece of kit & give you some lovely photo's & yet not tell us anything really useful about it. This is where the likes of Golf Monthly wins out & probably always will.

Personally I like choice & diverety. And it really would be unfortunate if yet another magazine went the way of the excellent Golf Pages, which is also no more & seems to have been replaced by these yankie interloapers.

Golfpunk has more and better reading in it than the other mags, GM included. The longer pieces and interviews are good.

It's not great for equipment reviews but then I'm not quite sure how important that is. Most modern equipment is high quality and it comes down to how it suits the individual who wants to buy it.

The marketing and perception they try to create isn't really my cup of tea, though.

I wish some of the female members at my club looked like the golfbabes rather than the graying middle aged housewifes they are (no offence to most of you if you read this and there will be free drinks this weekend on me).

I have not read GP, but checked the website out and didnt like it. I thought todays golfer was sooo bias to the top four brands it made horrid reviews, GM this month I thought was average and whisked though it quick, though some of the articles where good the stick man I didnt like and there still is too much travel and that Mizuno advert on the front is a total pain the a*** when trying to read.

Though out of all mags GM is best.

Mizuno ad on the front? Do you mean the Nike one?

This months GM is top draw. Only about quarter of the way through but its a good read as usual.

And I made it in again :D

Mizuno Nike all the same its a pain in the ass, the flaps on the front cover, I hate the flaps

I am sure we had the same debate about "will golf miss tiger" now its "did golf miss tiger" pages, though overall its a good read and the best out there the flaps get on my wick.

found the flaps on this months GM v.annoying. i had to get the sticky tape out.

I totally agree about the flaps and the travel, but all in all great mag. Trouble is i have read it in about 1hour and its a agonising wait for the next issue (Which for some reason that escapes me is March!! At one point i thought i'd slipped through a time warp.

(sorry if that topic been covered extensivley in the past as i'm sure it has).
