Yep I always have one cap for practicing (i.e. on the range etc) and one cap for playing on the course. I will only use them for their named purpose and will not mix them up.

I never walk onto a tee through the white markers. I always go round the side!!

I think it comes from my days as a goalkeeper when I wouldnt cross the line before a match(go between the post)

Just a strange thing I must try and break it next week!!!

Not really a superstition but I always set my bag down behind me so I cant see it. If I can see it and duff the shot, I blame it. So now when I set up, I have to make sure its not in view.

I think its just because when I was a hacker, I looked for every excuse, I hated being able to see anything in my perifrial(sp) vision and I always blamed the bag, I then got into the habbit of approaching the ball and placing the bag 5 yards behind where I intended to stand. Its now actually part of my P.S.R

I saw one last weekend.
Not so much a superstition, more of a PSR. I saw a guy tee up his ball, then very gently tap the top of the ball on the tee before performing his backswing.

Personally, the only thing I do which seems anything like superstition is to put a good few tees in my right hand pocket and a spare ball in my left hand pocket.

Again, not really a superstition as such, more of a habit.
I will never stand on the first tee of a golf course unless my shoes are cleaned and polished.
It's a standards thing, if you can't maintain standards in your appearance (which requires little skill and effort) what standard of golf ( which requires loads of both) are you likely to produce?

I have to have my tees and markers in my left hand pocket. My glove has to be in my right hand back pocket and my shirt and hat have to match. Where possible my glove has to match my shirt as well but until FJ make a SciFlex in either crushed grape or sunset yellow that won't happen!

Tee's Go in right hand pocket along with ball Marker, So hard to grab a tee out of the left pocket when ya have put the glove on.

Glove always has to hang out of back right pocket.

Basher, did the guy tap the ball with his club whilst it was on the tee before his back swing or do you mean he tapped the tee with the ball in his hand?

1) I always start with a brand new ball

2) Tee's, pitch mark repairer and ball marker in left pocket.

3) I always carry a picture of my lit'lun (I do that everywhere though)

4) I never, ever, say the S-Word on a course and if somebody has an unmentionable, I refuse to discuss it.

If he tapped the top of the ball with the club when on the tee, its not a stroke. Similar to when having addressed the ball on the tee, the ball falls off the tee, its not a stroke... but it is obligatory for a playing partner to say "one" anyway.... Its only a stroke when you swing at the ball.

He tapped the ball whilst on the tee Tony. I did wonder myself, but then it was just a friendly knock up.

Not sure if these are superstitions or just habits.

Tees etc go in teh right pocket, ball marker in my back pocket. I never have anything else in my pockets.

I always start with a new ball.

I always carry a second ball onto the first tee. Do not often have to reload on the first but I think this stems back to early beginner nerves where if I put one OB I wanted to get the second one away as quickly as possible.
