so anything you regret about this wonderful sport/hobby?

mine is taking up too late and not being able to play enough now that I have

over to you.....

Yep - I went football, tennis then golf and I wish I missed out the tennis. Not that I didn't enjoy it but I would have had more time to get the handicap in single figures

Starting too late, 18 months ago when I was 34. Second regret being taught ride sided golf for the first year.

Kept reverting back to motocross once injuries were fixed. Got to 11 as a junior, then back to mx, to a fro..... A kid I played with when I was off 11 was 28' he's now +2 and has done 3/4 seasons on the euro tour.

Bad odd socks

Another for starting too late. "Retired" from cricket at 29 due to dodgy knees and started golf seriously just before 30

Also not playing enough Top courses - time and finance have put the kybosh on that...

Packing it in from 1992 to 2013, although that was mainly due to health problems. Mind you, if I had been playing these last 20 years I doubt I would have the same enthusiasm that I have got since starting again.

I certainly regret not playing as much as I would like but it makes me appreciate it even more when I do play.

I don't agree with wishing to have started younger though. If I started playing as a boy, chances are I would have played most days during the summer and at the weekends, got decent at it and then took for granted and eventually given it up as a result.

I played football from the age of 9 until recently 27 and I played a decent standard (county level) actually scored 40 goals a season for the past 2 seasons and guess what? Yep I gave it up. Took it for granted, knew I was going to score a goal or two each week and the pressure and expectation of my team expecting me to score a couple a game just ruined it for me and I didn't enjoy it at all in the end.

I think taking up in early 30's is the prime age for golf. A little more money for kit, memberships and little more maturity not to be hung over every weekend. I gave up football because of too many injuries and getting fed up chasing much faster younger players around.

Getting down to 12 as a junior, then packing the game up between the ages of 18 and 32 because I was playing either football or cricket each weekend. I wish I'd found the time to include golf.

Mine's not so much a regret for me (although I wish I'd played more top courses) but that my dad & grandad didn't play when they were younger as they used to live and work in Birkdale.

None.

Took it up at 9 yrs old. Played the golf I wanted to play. Have had a fantastic time, and hopefully plenty more to come. Broke par gross, and still doing it occasionally. I'm now old enough to play with the coffin dodgers, so that'll be plenty of new opportunities.

Lovin' it!
