So what golf books (non-instructional) have you read that you would recommend?

I recently read 'Driving the Green' by Kevin Markham, about his tour around Ireland playing every course. Was enjoyable but lacked a bit of detail.

I also recently re-read 'A good walk spoiled' by John Feinstein. Really good insight into the PGA Tour from 20 years ago, thoroughly enjoyable.

bring me the head of sergio garcia and paper tiger are ok ish, similar reads but different tours.

harvey pennicks little red book, some instruction and nice anecdotes

Just read "The Big Miss" which is great as you can feel the hatred towards Tiger Woods from Hank Haney. Also recommend "Four iron in the soul" by Lawrence Donegan. Two I haven't read but want too are "In to the Bear pit" by Mark James and "Final Rounds" by James Dodson

Have got a copy but cant remember what it was like! Maybe a re-read is required!

Nice Jumper by tom cox is a funny book about him playing golf from a kid and dealing with life as child club member ;)

He also did "Bring me the head of Sergio Garcia" but nice jumper is better

"The Education of a Golfer" by Sam Snead "A Beverley Hillbilly plays Golf" could be the subtitle. Very funny, available cheap for the Kindle. Also Ben Hogan's authorised biography by James Dodson. It's got the saddest opening paragraph I've read and is a riveting life story.

Would highly recommend "Preffered Lies: a journey to the heart of golf" by Andrew Greig. After recovering from a life threatening illness he takes time out to play courses throughout Scotland. Talks about golf, life and the people he meets. It was about £5 on kindle. Bargain. Think I'll read it a again soon.

Was in Waterstones last night killing some time and there's a book out now by some bloke who was just trying to break 80 and his journey. Read a couple of pages and it seemed ok and definitely hit a point. Maybe Smiffy could do a sequel about trying to break 90 :rofl:

Have read 'No Limits' by Ian Poulter. Brilliant!

really? I'm just over half way through it and I can honestly say that I'm close to hating the fella...... he just repeats the same old stuff about himself over and over and over again.

He may of just written one paragraph along the lines of......I love money, money, money, money. Ferraris. Don't hate me cos I love money and have loads of it. Ryder Cup. Money, money, money, I'm great, don't tell me I'm not. Money, money. Blah blah blah.

I'm reading A Course called Ireland by Tom Coyne. Tis a pleasant enough read about a chap who walked around the coast of Ireland playing every links course.
