For me the single best golfing purchase I made this year was my Garmin S3. It has completely changed my club selection process and I genuinely believe its saved me shots when I'm playing well. Memorably I made back to back birdies on two very tricky holes on the PGA (Belfry) on the S3's debut and I gave the watch the credit for helping me choose the correct club. I have forgotten it a few times and I actually feel lost without it and trying to guess the yardage or work it out with markers is a nightmare. So there it is my best buy of 2013...

What's yours???

Probably the Motocaddy S3 Pro.

Helps alot as the 16th at my place is uphill and I'm tired by that point! Also the second is straight uphill!!!! So probably that.

Have also purchased some great clubs, RBZ S2 Hybrid, a couple of Vokey Wedges, a New putter, they have all helped!

I've bought the full kit since starting back up in June, aside from a putter.

Out of the lot, the simple Garmin S1 has been the key for me. My Adams Super S driver comes a close second.

And in about an hour I'm hopin to secure a 35" putter on the (very) cheap from fleabay.

I've actually sold significantly more than I've bought this year - with the inevitable regret (the Adams/TP7, though a mate now has it so it may be retrievable).

Best purchase was the soft-stepping work done on the irons. Meant I could go to a combo set as I've always figured that was what suits me best, and it certainly seems that way.

I bought a driver from eBay a little while ago, a Taylormade R580XD with a stiff shaft, that in itself was a bit of a gamble as I've never owned a club with a stiff shaft, anyway, decided to try it on course straight away rather than a bit of practice on the range and the result off the first was long and straight, as it was on the 2nd and 3rd and pretty much every time I've used it since.

The price of this wonder stick? - £6.10 :whoo:

And it may even be on the list of non-conforming drivers. Have you checked ;)

Ooooh those were the days loved my 580 but sadly it had to go because of the non conformance of COR limits DCB mentions.

I too had one of the non-conforming ones - it had even come off the Tour, so before the ruling was actually made!

The conforming ones (and this goes for the XD as well) have a second ring of score-lines near the centre. The non-conforming ones just have the 1 ring around the outer part of the face.

Best purchase has to be my vp1 milled Cleveland putter, stolen from a guy who used it once indoors before he's wife treated him to a surprise Scotty, stolen at 33.65 delivered!

Nephew still has conforming one in bag and also carrys a picture of the faces to clarify the conformance.
