Hello Recently me and my dad started to play, and we have decided to go to France for playing for a week. It would be awesome, if you could share your thoughts and ideas about golfing in this country, like personal experience, pros and cons, maybe france is not the best destination to go after all. We are interested in the small, fundamental things what build up the trip, like atmosphere, price, quality, etc.Transportation is not a problem - any place in France could be good for us.Thank you in advance!

Mark Crossfield did some vlogs recently from what looked like some very nice courses around Brittany I think. Might be worth a look to see them as I'm seriously considering them for our next overseas golf break. Just type Mark Crossfield Golf France into google and it will get you there.

Some nice places just over the channel around the Boulogne area: Hardelot, Le Touquet and Boulogne Sur Mer itself is a classic links. Decent value and not overcrowded in the spring and autumn from my experience. There are some good deals to be had on short breaks so you might want to look into some packages etc. Prefer Belgium myself as there's some real gems and they're usually deserted...

Just over the channel, both Hardelot courses are fantastic and in my opinion trump both the Le Touquet courses. Wimereux is a great links, no heirs and graces just good golf and Belle Dune is also exceptional . Sampled Belgium just the once and Sept Fontaines was magnificent .

Agree with all of this. Sept Fontaines is just LOVELY ;)

It seems to be a bit of a hidden gem as you're about the only person i've heard of who has also played it. It never gets written about in any of the publications when Belgium is mentioned as a destination either.

You're right about that.. Strange though, given just how good it is??!! Seems to be busier on weekends from my experience when the wealthier folks from the city decend - had that country club feel with lots of families etc.

There are some cracking courses in SW France. Google Golf Landes and Golf Pays Basque. There are also some deals that have been put together - again Google golf pass Landes and golf pass Cote Basque.
You could do worse than a visit to my club http://www.golf-bigorre.fr. The setting is just stunning and the course isn't bad either.
