Looking to go away for a few days in March for my wife's birthday and I am interested in finding a good golf resort with good courses and a nice hotel.

Had a look on golf breaks and seen the Belfry was available for a decent price at that time but was interested to see if anyone had any recommendations?

Ideally I am looking for somewhere with a spa for the wife and also a good golf course for myself.

We have just recently had a baby so she will be 3 months by that time so will be bringing her along to but don't see that being an issue when booking to accommodation hopefully.

Should of added I stay in the West coast of Scotland but would be happy to make my way down South if I can find somewhere suitable at a reasonable price

If you didn't fancy driving all the way to the Belfry, I'd recommend Carden Park near Chester, and also Formby Hall.

The driving isn't really an issue to be honest, we will probably just travel and stay a night somewhere on the way to our destination to split up the journey.

I see Celtic Manor is also a very good price at that time if staying during the week

Done both belfry and Celtic manor with hon playing family, to be honest neither were great hotels very expensive to eat and drink but of the 2 would put Celtic manor first. Having 2 non golfers in our family have stopped booking golf resorts but choose where we want to play and then sort out accommodation nearby normally in nearest town, often is a lot cheaper and not tied into the resorts costs

I see the deal at Celtic Manor if slightly cheaper if playing the Montgomerie and Roman Road Course rather than the Twenty Ten Course.

I think the deal I would go for is to pay the extra and play the Twenty Ten course but what one out of the Montgomerie or the Roman Road would you recommend to play alongside it?

I presume Celtic manor in march will be very wet if we carry on with the weather.

you need a links course with some spa facilities nearby maybe independent.

have a look at MacDonald Aviemore resort. I think they do some very good deals for spa and hotel and the spa is quite nice. Spey Valley is a super course and sometimes we get better weather at the end of March than the rest of the year.
