Im sure if i looked there would be loads of threads about this site but sure....

I was quite suprised at the mark up they apply. In many of the quotes ive got they are selling them on for >100%more!!

I was considering an Iron upgrade but after only being offered £55 for my 6 month old nike slingshots i think ill wait....

Is take it the prices offered by golfbidder are close to those offered by pro shops/American Golf etc?
I have seen many a second hand R11 in pro-shops and American Golf this yr and wondering if those who trade them in got screwed over as much on the price?? Maybe the more modern clubs hold their value better?

Most pro shops etc that I have been to will offer you the Golfbidder price on part exchanges. This means that they are guaranteed not to make a loss on the trade in.

Whilst reliable etc, Golfbidder are not known for offering the best prices but they do take away the effort and risk of a private sale. They offered me £100 for my Cobra SZ irons 5-SW which, whilst low was not that bad. Will stick them on here first then see what happens.

you also need to bare in mind that they are a business and as such need to make a profit.

try here, then ebay, and if all else fails their there as a back up, but they will kick you in the man jewels a bit on price. you have to take into account that they may have your clubs for up to a year before sold, and as such have to take into account future depreciation to ensure they still make profit.

I understand their a company and need to make profit. I just would have thought the tradein price would be inflated a little more in an attempt to get people upgrading more often. being a leftie getting rid of clubs by private sale is tough!!

When I was badly fitted for MP53's with light shafts etc etc I got a quote from Golfbidder on my 15 day old £650 worth of clubs. £300 was their best offer:eek:

They are a business so fair enough, AG took pity on me and upped that considerably as the manager said they'll shift in days.

So if you just want rid or a very quick sale then Golfbidder.

Strangely, their prices for older, more obsolete kit are not bad, it's their pricing on nearly new stuff which is criminal.

I got £60 for a 5 month old Titleist 909 8.5 degree D2 with matrix ozik upgrade. I got the same £60 for a two year old Nike STR8fit, with stock shaft.

Was thinking of using Golfbidder myself but was disapointed in quote they gave me,apart from e-bay where else can you offload clubs ,with the mark up i have noticed at golfbidder i begrudge selling stuff to them

I agree with most of the stuff already said. They are a business and offer little value if you part ex. They are worth a punt if you are looking for specific 2nd clubs though. I must confess to browsing on their website at some of the gear they have. In terms of service though, they are very good. I bought my first every set of clubs (Cobra S9's) from them and arrived next day. I have a friend who sold an old Callaway Driver to them and again, the cheque arrived in the post within 3 days.

Said it before and again it only applies to a small % I know but if you can get along to their head office in New Malden Surrey and negotiate face to face you can get pretty good value for money. Its a question of deciding if the time and petrol makes it worth the effort. On the plus side World of Golf are five minutes away and so you cna book a C/F session and spend whatever you make on a new set of shinies

That's a bit Harsh:(
clubs lying in loft/garage gathering dust = pointless
clubs turned into cash = better IMO

Sorry it's a no brainer for me...sell a club for 100 pounds on here or 50 pounds to golfbidder.
I have asked them for a number of "quotes" and cannot believe some of them I have got back.

Wish I would of come up with golfbidder!

Originally Golfbidder was exactly what it says in the title where golfers could auction their gear off and there was some great deals to be had, shame it finished but to be fair there wouldnt be much money in that for them and they set it up the way it is now.....

i've bought most of my clubs used off ebay anyway, so when i've come to sell the the golfbidder price has always seemed pretty reasonable. cetainly roughly equivalent to what i could have sold on ebay once sellers fees, postage, hassle etc are taken into account...

i imagine the prices for new stuff are pretty low, but if it's old stuff when you're having a clearout, i'd recommend golfbidder

Ive never Personally bought or sold through Golfbidder, but I do have one experience to pass on

Several years ago, when Callaway launched the GREAT BIG BERTHA 2+ driver, the Blue Headed driver
My Mate WON one of these in an invitation day or Captains day, I forget which
Anyway, he didnt want it
The selling price in American golf at this time was around £319.00
So Id heard of this Golfbidder site, and told me mate Id get a quote and sell it on
