I know that there are a few people on here that use Golfbidder. I went to the Raynes Park store yesterday to find it shut. They've now moved to Unit 5, Barwell Business Park in Chessington (same business estate as Callaway's fitting centre) opposite Chessington World of Adventure. Less clubs on display but they now have a simulator in store so that you can hit balls in store, there is also a range just up the road at Chessington. No connection to them other than being a satisfied customer, posted for info to save people a wasted journey.

And accept a much lower price than you'd get privately?

Typically cynical answer. I have sold several sets and by going in person I have managed to get anything between £50 and £85 more than the online quote which would make the price I got comparable to anything I could reasonably charge on here or online. As I have friends and family in that area it means I can go there when visiting so the petrol costs would have been incurred anywhere. Don't make wild accusations when you've never stepped foot inside the shop or dealt with them in person

So if you take the gear in and it's in exceptional nick then you can drive up the price?

They give you an online quote but can only give you a figure based on how you rate the clubs and it is understandably conservative. If they are in good nick as mine were it is easy to get the price up and they like a good haggle. They are usually pretty fair guys

Definitely worth knowing - though probably not relevant to Dave (bit of a trek!), so he's right too.

And he didn't deserve that sort of reply imo! Tough day?

Nope just tired of people making digs and casting wild assumptions. Never having dealt with them in person how could he possible know if I could get a better deal face to face than what would be an acceptable offer privately. Especially so on here where I'd like to feel I'd offer a fellow forummer a decent price

I bought a set of R9's and only used them about 10 times

Hardly a scratch on them - offered me £60 for them ! Even AG offered more than that in Part Ex

Thankfully my pro took them of my hands for the better price of £300 ( what they were worth )

Had a few mates had issues with their valuing

I wouldn't use them personally

Some might expect clubs to be offered, at a decent price, on here BEFORE heading to GBidder!

He is hardly likely make the trip to deal with them in person/face to face is he! One of the advantages of living near their location!

'casting wild assumptions'? Bit of a mexed mitaphor (sic)? Didn't seem like a 'wild accusation' to me either!

Golfbidder offer excellent quality second-hand clubs at rip-off prices. That's the whole premise of their business.
Well you don't HAVE to use them!

Which is my whole point! By dealing with them in person you are able to haggle on the price and therefore bring it up to a far more market expected price. I wouldn't deal with them online but face to face I have no qualms

I don't live around the corner from them - in fact most don't , so they can't deal with them in person

People have to deal with them online so I would expect a fairer evaluation from them online but it doesn't happen

I accept that 100% However the point Virtuoicty made insinuates that just because I opt to deal with them in person, being fortunate enough to live in the vicinity, I am still getting ripped off and offered a price way below market value with nothing to base it on. Online, I agree they are poor but face to face I can only say I've never had any issue getting a price that would be seen as fair had I put them on here or e-bay

I wouldn't know what they are like face to face so can only trust your judgement on that

But they seem to be doing well so I'm guessing they get a good amount of business

But they aren't for me either buying or selling

Personally I'd rather put them on here 1st,I can't see them giving you a fair price as they obviously have to sell them on at a profit.

Excellent service from golfbidder in the past, the quality ratings always hold up and fast delivery. BUT, prices are inflated and selling clubs to them ONLINE is not worth it at all. The quotes they give online are laughable.

I have just bought a single iron from golfbidder, as usual their service was impeccable, the club was in better condition than described and it arrived next day. I don't think I paid anymore than I would have done on E bay. Golfbidder IMO are a pleasure to buy from, never sold to them but can't believe the service would be any different.
