He re-sells them through one of several streams, depending on the club, but Ebay is the main one. So he's simply taking a fee to avoid the hassle (and loading some more for the risk involved).

Ping stuff sells really well on ebay. Mate has just sold his G25 irons, and he was amazed how much he got for them. You may knock the clubs but they seem to hold their value better than most.
