I have been tasked with booking and organising our golf weekend for next Spring this year we went East Sussex National this year and was our best trip to date so have a tough act to follow.

Where could you recommend on a similar level or Golf and Service from your own experiences.

thanks in advance.

Ryan

I was impressed with The Belfry when we done it for Masters weekend this year (although the beer aint cheap). Next year we are doing Woodhall Spa (heard great things about this courses)

Woodall spa is a great venue for that time of year. Plenty of accommodation of various levels in the village, and two good courses. The club is very friendly and it wont cost you an arm and a leg. The only downside for me is the traveling so could be better for you if you're coming from the south?

What he or she said. And I'd go farther than calling The Hotchkin good, one of the best you'll play is closer to the mark IMHO;)

I would highly recommend the South Lodge Hotel which partners with Mannings Heath GC. Stayed there earlier this year and played both courses at Mannings Heath, the Waterfall course was spectacular, highly recommend the hotel too, beautiful rooms and great great food too.

If you are looking at the same areaDale Hill is excellent.

Any other of the Leaderboard venues should be really good too. Oxfordshire in particular and they have recently (I think) added Chart Hills to their group.

Foxhills is worth considering too.

Brocket Hall is likely to be seriously expensive, though having recently gone into administration that may change. 2 really good courses and fabulous practice facilities!

Course I like, but not others, is Old Thorns. Hotel on site (unlike Brocket Hall, although they are 2 good courses), nice range of holes and not too difficult, which depending on your abilities could be handy.

Collingtree Park is another that divided opinion, and no hotel on site, but Travel Lodge round the corner.

Woburn, although pricey is stunning.

Find a Travelodge with a Toby carvery next door, (all you can eat breakfast £3.99....challenge accepted!!!!) close (walking distance 10-15 mins) to a town with courses all around. Sorted!!!!

Highly recommend Keithley Yorkshire. Loads of courses all around. Fantastic Turkish restaurant in the town + a 'spoons pub. All done as cheap as chips !!!!!

You're welcome :D

What is your budget and restrictions?

I can recommend both Gleneagles (no you don't have to stay in the hotel) and also Machrihanish Dunes. Had great weekends/golf breaks at both.

Currently arranging Aberdeen for next year and the itinerary is growing every time we discuss it. Has gone from two days Trump and Royal Aberdeen to Trump, Royal Aberdeen, Murcar, Cruden and Montrose Medal on the way home.
