Golf track survey - University

James,

I've completed this to help you out, but you might want to re-think your questionnaire - many of the questions do not appear to be questions, and I'm not entirely sure how much you can glean from the information you've requested.

Best of luck with it, regardless

How are things over in Kingston!? I went to uni there and graduated around 6 years ago. Loved it over there but have only been back once!

I agree with the above, im sure you can get some more information with better questions, but I suppose its all about what information you are after.

Tom

Hello gentlemen,

I am a Kingston university student doing a market research on golf tracking software. Can you please help me by answering this questionaire? There are just 6 questions and it will not take more than 1 minute. The survey in anonymous.

Thank you for your time and consideration!!

Out of interest what are you aiming to try and discover? I trust that you are aware that the use of any sort of modern gadgetry such as a golf tracker (don't myself actually know what one of these is) may not be correlated with any of the criteria you give in your survey. I don't use any gadgetry because I never have and don't see the need. I'd be interested if there is any typical profile for such as a golf tracker as I'm not sure you'll find one. Good luck :)

Thank you Holty!
Basically me and my team need to define a niche market for a golf software. So with these simple answers we will be able to see what golf players do at different levels. The survey is very quick otherwise it's really hard to collect data. We have done some qualitative research as well with some Golf clubs and players. This the quantitative part in order to have an overview of players preferences and profiles.
Thank you for your interest! Any suggestion is really important for us!

I know that you could find it useless but we already have collected data by interviewing players and clubs. The market is already full of software, devices and apps. The software we are doing the market research for is going to be website based. Basically you will fill your statistics after playing your game. It will collect these and provide you with advice to improve your game. You will not waste time on the course. I have to show combining quantitative and qualitative research which is the potential size of this niche market. It's a bit hard to explain :)

Thank you Tom!
Kingston is lovely and would be great with a bit of sun!
Anyway, the goal of this quick survey is to collect enough data in order to have a general idea of players' profile and preferences. Combining with our qualitative research we will be able to show the market size of our target and if it is worth to invest or not.

I know stevie. I don't like that question too. But we are supposed to show these data. Sorry about that.
james

It was the fact the population was broken down into three classifications including the awful 'lower'. Nothing wrong with showing class/ socio-economic groupings but have you seen the Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey of 2001 or indeed the BBCs 2011 survey? They provide you a few more less insulting options.

We are not insulting at all stevie. We need statistics based on our research. Then we can compare. If you feel offended just do not answer the question. I apologise for the term "lower".

James, I don't feel personally insulted nor offended, a few on here may well be! I just felt it was a far too simplified a question to be of real benefit in terms of the survey.
