I'm due to play golf this weekend with some friends. They've put me in charge of organising it but I've got no idea where to go.

Any ideas?? We're looking to spend about 30 quid and would love to go somewhere that we know the condition will be good.

Ant help ould be great

If you're playing in the South-East I really recommend Coulsdon Manor. Very reasonable green fees - £20-ish and usually in good condition all times of year. It's a fairly straightforward layout but there are some interesting holes, including a dog-leg right around what may be an old bomb crater. The 19th is within the hotel and is comfortable too.

I played wycombe heights last w/e which is just off J4 of M40. was in good nick though took us five hours to get round so you need to get out there early. cost abt 24quid i think.

Thanks very much. Not sure what to do now - 5 hours doesn't sound good but it's a decent price. think i might go with Wycombe heights.

I'll let you all know what it's like - I'm sure you'll be waiting with baited breath!
