Played 18 today. The front 9 was a bit of a disaster for me, so had resigned to it being the continuation of the current bad form.

Started back 9 with a birdie, then miserable 11th and bogie on 12th.

On the 13th, pulled my drive severely. It went long but to the left and into the long grass. I have never been to these parts before, so used a 9 iron to chip it out. Duffed my 3rd shot about 10y but onto the fairway. 4th shot a solid recovery with a 4 hybrid, but still to the left. For the 5th shot, the ball was on the first fringe but it was below my feet. The gps showed 76y to the front & the flag about 10y from the front. This is generally between my 52 or SW. However given that the 13th green is elevated, decided to use Pitch using a Pitcher. Good contact with the PW, landing where I wanted to... And straight into the hole!!! Par after all that.

Game picked up after that.

Out 53, In 42!! Finished with a 95!! I think it is my best back 9 on my main course. Ahh, if someone sees my back 9 score, they might think I can play golf. Indeed a false sense of security, but things like these keeps bringing us back and grind it out!

Happened to me last week. Went out trying to use some new advice I'd been given by the pro at a course I use near work. Went out in 61 and came back in with 46!!

Thats the lowest score I've ever had on 9 holes and will probably take me ages to do it again. If my front 9 had been any good I could have beaten 100 at long last but I suppose it wasn't meant to be?

Trouble is next time I play I'll try to hard and think to much about what i did right last time and end up with a bad round

Due to my supreme ability to be playing OK and then collapse - I booked a lesson yesterday - first in 25yrs. Roll on Tuesday. So feeling relieved I went out for a few holes - after 8 was level par and wondering why I had bothered booking the lesson. Aha!! Screamed one miles down the 17th - and from middle of fairway with a 9i in hand - yup - Lucy Locket out of nowhere. Dropped another ball down - yup - second LL in a row. Stuck third ball down and hit perfect to 15 foot. And why does golf screw us up?

I started better today. Out in 17 points and vaguely resembled a golfer. Double at the par 3 eleventh, then hit the bogey train until the 16th where I had another double. Another on 17 too but managed to finish with a birdie to lighten the mood a little. No idea why I lost the swing having had a good tempo. Was only a roll up so was trying to play with an empty head and not worry about anything or think too much. Stupid game

I must add.. while holing an 85y was the highlight of the day.. it does little to gloss over the fact that I missed 3 putts within 3 feet!!!
Oh the indignity.. :o
