Golf / Tennis Grip Pics... As Promised!

Cool

I have seen in these in the local golf store but they are still only the same size as a normal jumbo.

Golf grips are rediculously small nor me but then I do have somet called marfans syndrome which makes my hands ginormous!

Maybe they wouldn't work then,as although they can be bulked out with tape, they aren't as "stretchy" as a normal one piece grip,so tend to tear if too many layers of tape are used.
Might be worth checking to see if they do an oversize grip ?

I was chatting at St Georges to Phil Gazely who invented the 2 thumb grip for putters and was about to introduce a really large grip for wedges - to keep the hands out of the action

I had a set of John letters T3 irons that had thick grips like that, felt really nice in your hand. Only problem was I struggled with them (1st set) used them for 7 years then decided when I was going to stick with the game to invest in some game improvement irons........

Still sometimes wish I had those grips.

Its not actually as thick as ya might think.

Tennis grips are only 2 or 3 mm thick, just enough to get a good firm grip for a big hand :)

Grip size does matter that much yes when you have hands the size of mine :)

When I first got my clubs with normal jumbos about 2 years ago, after about 1 month I started to get pains in my hand as I as holding it too tight or rather my fingers were so bent around themselves they started to ache. And I was actually fitted properly but obviosly grips dont go up to the size I need.

Lets face it most people havent even got a decent grip they hold it far too straight instead of in the fingers.

If I hold my arm out at 90* my club should be at about 12:30 or 1 o clock, most people I know are at about 2 o clock, way to in the palm. holding it this way they wouldnt even know if there grips were too small or not :)

Ive gone from a 28 handicap to just under a 12 in 2 years so im doing pretty well and I am now getting in the technical stuff... Grips do really matter to everyone, especially freaky handed people like me :)

And I think look rather fetching... especially in red :D

Have you ever tried contacting any of the major grip manufacturers ?
There must be some kind of grip that could do the job ?
How common is your condition ?
There may be a market for oversize grips,i used to play with a chap who had really big hands, pretty sure he used midsize grips with plenty of tape.

Hi

My condition is pretty rare but really I just wanna be good at golf and as I play so much the tennis grips need changing every frw months and thats a pain the ***!

Ive just ordered some big grips from the good old US (jumbomax website) and hopefully they will do the job.

My main point being though that even the pros at the range I go to quite like my giant grips, they do feel as if you can grip the club well and more relaxed.

Anyway, im coping and playing well so ill carry on and see if I can get to single digits next year :)
