Golf Society/Tournament manager software

Can anyone recommend any freeware/shareware software for showing a live leaderboard in the clubhouse on a PC? or anything in excel?

Our club uses a whiteboard and dry markers

Also would be great to have for GM meets, societies, etc.

Most handicap software will have a leaderboard function so your club may already have this facility and it's just not switched on? Certainly HandicapMaster and Club2000 both do this. They all will depend on human input though so they are only "live" in the sense that scores are entered as soon as possible.

I've seen spreadsheets administered via a laptop and fed into a big screen TV at open events. Especially invitation 4BBB type comps where the normal computer software isn't in operation.

But what's wrong with the good old fashioned scoreboard? It does the job, everyone can see it and it shows more than just the leaders - which more people are interested in. People want to look how their mates did etc as well as who's winning. We use our scoreboard for all major events and I can't see a time when we won't to be honest unless we can afford a TV as big at some point

Yes I agree, the chart will show everybody's score not just the leaders.

I cant rely on the clubs system as I also need something to take on society's like the one I run at work.

Useful though I will talk to the club , they ues handicapmaster so hopefully the functionality is already there.

We use HandicapMaster too and the leaderboard is certainly available. It can be configured to show everyone or scores better than a certain figure. They also do a society version which is free and could be installed on a laptop for society events etc but I'm not sure this has the player input program included so may not do leaderboard. Their website will give more details.
