Now, in the current economical climate, you would expect shop owners to be a tad flexible in order to keep customers, especially when they have spent a generous amount of money in your establishment over the past couple of seasons.

No, not Willie Walker (Strathclyde Park Golf Centre).

I have a pair of Adidas Adipure on which the leather stripe has snapped, Adidas inform me that any stockist can return then for me and either replace or order a new pair for me (Adidas Policy). No, not Willie Walker, he claims he wants to know I am spending money in his shop before he will help me out, it doesnt matter that only at christmas did I buy a new set of irons from him, then at Easter a new Scotty (which was rotten) and as recently as a month ago, a Taylormade Putter.

I had been to get fitted for a driver, but hit my own better, so decided not to pursue the new one, but, not good enough for Willie, unless I bought, or put down a deposit on the driver, he wasnt willing to help me out.

After a few calls, and asking around, I found that Bothwell Golf Club was a stockist, gave Alan McLoskey(someone I had never had dealings with, nor had bought anything from his shop) a bell and he took my shoes,he could not have been more helpful. Alan contacted Adidas on my behalf, and had me a replacement pair of shoes 3 days later. Customer service, the way it should be!!!!

I will definitely not be back near Willie Wal(n)ker for anything, and will try to go to club pros as much as possible!

Wullie is a moody bugger at the best of times and if he doesn't like the cut of your jib then he will do absolutely nothing to help. I try and avoid him and usually go to Ian (another knob but will do a job for you) or Andy.

Perhaps a leter to Adidas Customer Services would generate a reminder to Mr Wan... Walker that his customer levels have dropped.

Shocking service this. I'd defo be taking my money else where if this is the service I got from someone after spending a good bit of cash before after all not too much effort or bother for him to do this for you

madandra......heard a few stories about Andrew's habits in the place...sticky fingers!!!

I wont be back to buy gear from him at all, i wanted to go for a hit when I bought my new mizzies and he charged me for a basket after i handed him 600quid!!

Online stockists for clothes, Colville park for regrips etc! Only thing is Clydeway range is single fish for judging distance or targets!!

Bad service is everywhere we go. I wanted a set of Ping I15s. I had the exact spec I wanted. I didnt want a fitting session. I got absolutely no reduction. I didnt want to pay for a service (which I would expect to be substabndard any way)that I didnt want or receive.

In short I am off to Ping Gainsborough shortly and am sure I will get a decent service from the experts. I expect that I will be ordering some Ping gear - but not from this golf shop!

Had a similar experience at American Golf in Braintree. Took my Ping 4 under stand bag back to them as the legs were hanging on it and not folding back up properly, I was told that all Ping bags did that and that I should re position my clubs so that the long shafted clubs would hold the contraption at the base of the bag down, thus folding the legs up. I did that and it didn't work so I took it back again....they did nothing for me and told me that's the way it was.

I phoned Ping and they told me to go to a dealer who would send it back to them. Pretty pissed off with that particular AG store I decided to take it back to the Colchester branch who took one look at it and allowed me to exchange it for any other bag in store, picked up the Callaway G2 Euro and love it.

AG can suck my left nut though, can't stand the Braintree store so stick with Nevada Bobs in Copford who are superb.
