Always been an advocate of buying quality shoe's for golf and my ancient footjoy's are coming to the end of their life. I'm always hovering around the latest clubs in the pro shop and didn't realise how much choice of shoes their is now, ecco, nike, FJ, hi-tech, addidas etc etc,

So come on then peeps, what do we think is best? I'll leave it a week and check out the posts on here before I go out and spend my hard earned.

Junior,
I have tried quite a lot of golf shoes and can suggest the following -avoid Nike and Adidas, they are too narrow in the toe and are undersized and over priced. Footjoys are too pricey, but probably the best. I've found Phoenix and Etonic very comfortable and affordable. Currently have a pair of new Stuburts but I'm not just convinced yet.
Can give you the new model but the Etonic 400 equivalent is a nice shoe.

I would never change from Adidas. I have tried Footjoy and Nike in the past but wasn't impressed. Adidas are so comfortable and they look both sporty and stylish...happy buying Junior.

Footjoy classics - eyewateringly expensive, but the best shoes money can buy.
Nike are hard to break in and so cripple your feet for ages.
Footjoy dryjoys are the most comfortable quickest, but only last a season or so. My last pair of dryjoys leaked after about 4 weeks use. Not good.
Not tried Addidas, don't like the styling. Why have shoes that look like trainers, when everyone you meet will say 'are they legal'. Wears thin after a while.
Dexter are like fj, but wear out even quicker.
My dad wears ecco and swears by them, but I don't want to look like an old man.

Ecco for me- classic looks (or old fashioned depending on how you see it ) but more importantly they are the most comfortable shoe i've ever owned.

Have you seen the new gold Puma shoes - bling hits the fairway. Just accessorise with diamond earing. Beckham has probably got a pair.

I got a pair of FootJoy Reelfit and they are the mutts nuts. They DO NOT get slack on hilly tracks and they feel like bubble wrap on yer tootsies. I am keeping the receipt in a safe place just in case.

They are expensive and thank got the wife never found out how much they were or she might REFUSE to divorce me ;0)
