Does anyone possibly have a link to a good kindle book or PDF that has all the rules? The more I am spending time on here I am seeing a lot about the rules etc and would like to know what to get maybe even a pocket guide too to keep in my bag.

One question I have is, what happens when you land in the bunker but your ball is too close to the sides to you can't hit it out for lack of room, or you can't take a decent swing as the ball is too close to the back side?

You either play it out in another direction (away from the hole) or you have to declare it unplayable and drop outside the bunker no nearer the hole under penalty of one stroke.
Can't help with Kindle but the R&A do a very good rules app on ios and android.

The R&A does free rules booklets - very handy for on the course, pus I think there is an option to download each publication (pos PDF form, not actually looked into it).

You will have to find a way or stance to get the ball even if it means going sideways or backwards

Always room to swing someway

Hmmm. I am not convinced that is correct, I think if you take an unplayable you must drop in the bunker or go back to the original location (stroke and distance) unless there is water in the bunker., which I think you can then go back on a line fromt the flag like you do in a water hazard, at the cost of a stroke.

You are correct guest100718 no option to drop out behind a bunker unless casual water is about

If the player deems his ball to be unplayable, he must, under penalty of one stroke:
a. Proceed under the stroke and distance provision of Rule 27-1 by playing a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5); or
b. Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay, keeping that point directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind that point the ball may be dropped; or
c. Drop a ball within two club-lengths of the spot where the ball lay, but not nearer the hole.
If the unplayable ball is in a bunker, the player may proceed under Clause a, b or c. If he elects to proceed under Clause b or c, a ball must be dropped in thebunker.

Yes, this is certainly a common myth that you can drop outside for an unplayable. Sometimes the only viable option for an unplayable is stroke and distance due to the position of the lie within the bunker making the other two options impossible.

I downloaded that App and in their they had a video of the predicament I was thinking of.

They said if you do not have enough room to take a shot ie: the ball is in the bunker directly up against the side wall, you can drop the ball provided its no more than two club lengths and still in the bunker.

Well I hope it would ;)

because that is exactly what the rule I posted above says.

I find the best and most helpful rule book to have is the Doug Anderson "Do I Get A Drop"
It's not expensive and explains the rules in a logical and easy to understand way.

the real beauty of relying on such publications is that when the rules change you get to have a really heated argument, lose loads of money on a bet and still have someone else to blame!

When the rules change, he does another version.
Even the R&A like and approve of his book's

Don't know or care. I bought my copies direct. The small booklet is a great little bag version, and everyone I have given a copy to has thought them an excellent help.
