Firstly.... Does anyone carry these around (and refer to them during match play with the hope of winning the hole ;)

However clearing out a house the other day and stumbled across an old golf bag in it was a pocket size book called the.... Rules of Golf... However effective from January 1972 and it was signed by its owner on Dec 1971,

Just wondering if anyone know of people who collect golf memorabilia and if its worth owt?

Thanks people!

Yep, I carry a pocket guide to the rules in my bag, but not to catch anyone out, I'm just not that devious ..... yet

Not surprisingly I do carry a pocket guide in my bag!

Available from a reputable retailer near you..............................much nearer than you think. ;)
Yeh The R&A website for free. Just postage at £2 and you can get a coffee table size one as well. You should look in the R&A shop on their website it has a few freebies.

Yes,I carry one.
It's very handy on the occasional situation when your playing a know all who thinks he knows all the rules and tries to pick you up on some thing where your pretty sure he's wrong.
Just take out the book, hand it to him, and say,'could you show me that rule please'. :)

I always carry the rules (the free one issued to clubs last year) in a little plastic bag to stop it getting wet in the rain. Only have to use it a handful of times in club competitions per season and it usually resolves any issues immediately without too much animosity

Yeah, done that once or twice and you usually get the answer "hmmmph....well that used to be the rule". Here's a site with all the rules - ever. http://www.ruleshistory.com/ It's quite interesting how the rules have changed over the years.
