Friday we are off to the Scottish open and I'm finding it hard to get any clarification

My question is can you carry a golf umbrella as hand luggage on easy jet flights?

I've looked on gov.uk and apparently I have to check with my flight company, I've searched hi and low on easy jets site and I'm coming up with a blank. I don't really want to buy a cheap one at an inflated price there when I have three storm dual canopy ones here.

Any help appreciated.

Some travel forums suggest it needs to make the hand luggage size limits or it'll be ta, en off you at the boarding gate.

Definately email easyjet and if yes print email!

Having used easy jet quite a lot I'd go along with the hand luggage size limits. If it doesn't fit into the frame, it's not going in the cabin. Seen some really funny attempts at getting things to fit but to no avail ;)

Check with easy jet, if you don't get an answer I wouldn't risk it.

says here you're allowed an umbrella in addition to your hand luggage under the section 'more information'

I suppose the fact they state you can have an umbrella should clear it, if they argue it's too big, I could always argue their site wasn't specific enough to disallow it. Plus it would be smaller than a set of my crutches,

Gonna phone them in the morning and ask for email confirmation either way,

If it were me, I'd simply buy a cheap brolly once I got to Scotland. Taking anything that is not necessary onto a plane just adds hassle.

I'd forget about taking an umbrella... Get a good hat and waterproofs instead.
UP - it's getting in everyone's eyeline (and possibly eye)
DOWN - it's a faff to carry and likely to get left somewhere.

i'd agree with this. good waterproofs and a hat are much more practical than a brolly. if its raining it will probably be blowing a force ten as well in which case your brolly will be taking off.
