Played in our first medal this year, shanked first tee shot OB for a 6 on a par 3 and proceeded to shot 51 (+15!) on front nine. Back nine me thinks about swing thoughts better and shoots 40 (+4!!!) for a 91 nett 73! Bloody hell 69 is winning and I could have had an easy nett 67! Gutted but should be a top ten finish. Next time I have to keep focused on my swing thoughts!

It's a funny old game as I'm coming out of a major blip by NOT thinking any swing thoughts whatsoever!

Gotta love this crazy game hey?

Tell me about it, played a stableford today, shot 47 front 9 for 14 points, 12 over 5 , back 9 shoot 1 over par for 23 points, finish on 37 points but 13 over par which is to my handicap but just in a strange way.

must be something in the air, front 9 54 with a 9 an 8 & 2 7's after playing bogey/par/bogey for 1st 3 holes. Back 9 went round in 43 with 3 pars included. Just made buffer but could have and should have been a lot better, oh well there's always next week :)

My regular playing partners had to drop out due to illness so went round with the club captain and I think the new RAF Padre for the camp. My tourettes were surprisingly absent for the whole round :D

Must be something in the air. Had a lovely 19 pts on front nine and only 11 pts on the back.

yesterday was totally different played beautifully for the full round shot gross 80--41 pts and a handicap cut of 1.8.

Didn't get out to play at all this weekend. Still feeling crap with this bug thing and had to do the dutiful son bit and visit mum in hospital. Managed to spend a couple of hours on the chipping area and in the bunker earlier and felt I made some progress. I had 13 on the Marquess on Thursday morning and felt I'd left a few out there but came back in 19 and still not sure what changed or how I did it. Sometimes its best not to ask why and just accept it. It'll do your head in otherwise

I was very consistent yesterday, 10 front 9 10 back 9 for a total of 20 points(23 hcp). Had the dreaded shanks and could not rid myself of them. Today after a two minute lesson from my pro I shoot 23 points on the front 9 with a blob and 3 3 putts(28 hcp). I hate this game.

In the last 8 days I have played 3 rounds of golf. Last Saturday I was not terrible but not great throughout the round, 31 points. Went out to Stoke by Nayland on Monday, sucked the big one on the front 9, amassing 11 points, 6 of which I scored on the 8th and 9th. I then had a much better back 9, only scored 15 points but that was partly due to an ice cold putter, I was striking the ball pretty well.

Then yesterday at my home course, I couldn't hit a thing on the front 9, I was shanking, duffing and slicing my way around, think I must have scored about 6/7 points on the front. After 9 I had a smoke, big gulp of juice and a deep breath, then went round 7 over on the back 9....not my best but a hell of a lot better than the front!

I had the same yesterday. Front 9 I was awful, duffing chips, thinning everything and ended up with 53 strokes +17 gross. Then onto the back 9 where I relaxed a bit more and tried a few different shots and shot an 8 over 43 gross for a total score of 96 gross - 76 net. Not my best score but the difference between the front and back 9 was immense.
