Hi

I'm running a Society (18 members) and have bought a number of prizes.

Main prize (Saturday) - Calloway fairway driver
Spot prizes - decent red wine, gloves, balls

I need a few more prizes, one for the Friday winner (£50-£70) and some 2nd (£30) and third prizes (£20).

What would you like to win if you were playing? I've thought about a new set of grips, putter and clothing but not sure if thats a bit personal to people, so may not be too well received.

Suggestions welcome!

Cheers

Personally mate I'd say money or vouchers. Clubs are a very personal thing and the winner may end up being stuck with a Callaway fairway wood If they've already got their own that are suited better.

Sports holdall. Mine gets used a lot, both for golf away days and weekends away. £50 will get you a cracking one.

Certainly not alcohol,. It's a golf prize so something golf related or money/vouchers that I could buy what I want.

If the shop will allow it, keep the receipts, golf tops. Good branded polo shirts, jumper/top layers e.g. 1/4 zip tops. Good quality golf clothing usually goes down well. (Exchanges may be required for sizing)

Don't hand out Dunlop gear though, ha ha.

Not sure about clothing. I personally couldn't be bothered sending something back for a different size and the society is a pretty broad spectrum of age and size. Thanks for the suggestion though. :-)

No problem. Different things appeal to different people. If you're really stumped you could always give AG or similar vouchers. Bit dull but people can make their own choice then.

Be careful with buying clubs as prizes. I won one once in a society day, didn't want it and when I tried to return it to the online site. They said it was outside of their return policy, unless it had a manufacturing default so I was stuck selling it on Ebay for a fraction of it's worth.

Usual prizes is what I'd stick with, dozen Pro Vs or a nice shoe bag, maybe a voucher for a 2-ball at a local prestigious golf club. Rather than having a shiny new golf club, give out a 150 AG voucher. That to me is an awesome prize, winter it coming and people might be thinking about a new set of waterproofs and that would go a long way towards a nice set.

Good shout on the holdall front. Very useful and many good ones out there. The idea of vouchers, although boring does give the recipient freedom of choice

Vouchers are not boring IMO, despite what people think. I won a $50 one a couple of weeks back in my society scramble and was over the moon. Perfect, because I was running low on balls and that paid for a new box.
