Hi there, I am conducting a study on the perceptions of Golf on YouTube, particularly with PGA coaches that use the platform.

If you have a spare few minutes it would be great if you could fill out the survey with your thoughts.

All entries have the chance to win a £25 American Golf voucher, just provide an email at the end of the survey!

Many Thanks

Filled it in, was pretty painless, best of luck. Am currently liking Crossfield's output as I feel he is moving things on a bit on the entertainment front whilst also providing some good advice that may be of use. Feel others are kind of treading water a bit now.

i just find crossfield a bit sanctimonious. All his impartial rubbish whilst being sponsored by Callaway

i actually liked Rick shiels comment re the TM cup that Peter Finch and me and my golf were invited to. He said he was invited but as a club reviewer he didn't want to be seen to be swayed so turned the invite down

I think it's hard to deny that 2 of the above specialize in copying M C's content. Also feel the reason the trip was turned down was very much due to Crossfields stance previously.

I find finch and shiels a bit tiresome and dont care how Super excited they are about another free jolly to Dubai.

I think all the brand stuff is way overblown. Callaway are desperately trying to sign up as many social media 'stars' as they can. No Laying UP has recently took their dollar and The ShackHouse is virtually a Callaway advert at times. And yes Crossfield has appeared on Callaway TV or whatever it is called, and he likes Chrome Softs. But you will see way more overt Callaway bias on club testing on Rick's channel through Rob 'Callaway' Potter than you do on Crossfield's. All Crossfield ever really says is that most balls and drivers all go the same distance nowadays. Which is true.

Also not sure how much use an 'independent' Rick S is smashing drives over 300 yards when it comes to helping most amateurs chose a club (just hit a bad one that has only carried 270, I wish.....) All reviews are just personal opinion, there are no bad clubs or balls nowadays and to be honest I use them as entertainment, as opposed to a true independent test of what is best.

I'd agree. Ricks latest ball tests where he seems to go into an interminable amount of detail (whilst conveniently ignoring the fact that most balls are actually quite similar in the hands of the vast majority of amateurs) is just copied from MCs ball tests. I fully get that MC can wind people up the wrong way, but if you can see past that I feel his content is ahead of the rest in terms of innovating and trying something a bit different

I see an opportunity for Homer and his vlogs....

Ricks swing is a lot quicker than your standard amateur golfer, I will give you that. Launch monitor distances are always different anyway. My swing is 110-115 with the driver and it doesn't get out to 300 on a course very often, and it needs a good bounce when it does

All the reviews aren't worth anything as they don't hit anywhere near enough shots (or at least don't make it clear) to make a decent comparison between stuff.

There were some putter ones I did . If you're really unlucky, there's more stuff coming as well. I think there is a niche for a mid-handicapper to do this on a proper basis and know Rob Potter does it in conjunction with Rick Shiels (and I really like the Potter take on some stuff). Other than him though there isn't many out there doing anything on a monitor or with definite data. In the videos he usually hits 10 or so shots and takes out a couple of bad ones. I think with 8 decent strikes you should get a reasonable idea how a club performs (and too much and people get bored. Less is more as I'm finding out). I'm available should Mike and the GM boys want a proper hacker to do a review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
