Golf Near Loch Ness...

Hi chaps,

We are off up to Loch Ness for a weekend break next weekend, and will get the opportunity to get the sticks out on at least one of the days. Had a look and there are some great courses within an hours drive but just wonder if anyone had any favourites, or knew one with a great deal at the moment?? Quite like to travel to the coast for links course.

If you're up at the Inverness end of Loch Lomond then you're only 20 minutes away from Nairn which is a fantastic links course.

Likewise Royal Dornoch is 45 minutes drive north of Inverness and is the dog's dangly bits. Superb course, brilliant location with stunning views and a very friendly clubhouse.

I've made the trip from Shropshire to Dornoch 3 times over the past 4 years, this is 10 miles short of a 1000 mile round trip. It must therefore be worthwhile.

Loch Ness golf club is nice, Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle is well worth a visit although take your straight driving with you.

Just down the road you have wonderful delights such as Boat of Garten, Kingussie, Granton etc, but that depends where you are based and if you want to travel.

thanks for the advice. we ended up playing Nairn Dunbar in the end as that's where we could get on and it was an absolutely cracking course.
