Golf Monthy Centenary shirt at Badenoch Open

Received my Golf Monthly Centenary shirt and jumper last week and here’s me wearing it at The Badenoch Open on Sunday.

36 hole comp with 18 holes at Kingussie and 18 at Newtonmore.

Never played Kingussie before and it was a very nice course, short ish with quite a few par 3’s.

Was playing well only 2 over, started raining walking up the 14th got a bit heavier at the 15th tee a 93 yard par 3 tee’d off 15 feet from the flag. By the time we got down the hill to the green there were already puddles, walked of with par. However it was raining very heavily by now and I mean rain like I’ve never seen before. Had to wait 5 minuets for the group in front to clear. 16rh is 198 yard par 3, again straight at the flag. On the walk up the water was now pouring down the pathway, which had almost become a stream. Got to the green only to see my ball 2 feet from the hole but the whole green 4 inches underwater.
Had a couple of puts for my par ( try putting a ball that’s under water very interesting what it does). Anyway a siren then goes off. We all trudge back to the club house the course is now almost completely under water in less than 20 minutes. First round abandoned.

Get down the road to Newtonmore and it and not even been raining. Hang around trying to dry stuff off, 20 minuets later and just about to tee off it starts raining there too played 3 holes puddles getting bigger and bigger all the time. Buggy comes round competition abandoned.

Got my money back but most of my stuff is still hung over the aga drying as I write this.
