We have set up a Whatsapp broadcast list, simply follow the instruction below to sign up

Just add +44 7984 023140 to your contacts and send ‘GOLF’ to subscribe

You will only receive messages from the Golf Monthly Whatsapp number, and no one else will be able to see your number.

Will be a great way to keep up with the latest golf news, club reviews and tips. Also will hopefully have some Whatsapp only competition prizes to be won in the near future.

Nice one, will make a change to open what's app and not get an abusive message from odvan and birchy or someone else taking the pee out off my latest comp result.

It won't be just them mate, we'll all be taking the pee now ;)

This may help:

WhatsApp is a texting service between mobile phones as a replacement for the regular SMS text messages. Over 900 million users are active worldwide using the Whatsapp service. Whatsapp uses an internet connection between phones. The service is available for iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Nokia Symbian60-phones.

Or is it just me??

Hey Tom

Like the idea of promoting key content to me via WhatsApp as I don't have time to search the website and often miss things on Twitter. I'd suggest thinking about windows for content so it feels a bit more structured around what I'm likely to be thinking about. So Sunday - Monday I might be thinking about what went wrong on my weekend round so send me instruction content then but dont send it to me on Friday night before the monthly medal ;)

If you can measure click through I'm sure you'll start to get a good idea of what content works best at what times.

Another great forward thinking idea

Just signed up to see what it's like...I guess unsubscribing is easy if required as well..

Whatsapp is a good App particularly if you have friends overseas. You can text them without it costing money and text home when abroad - again without cost. Includes attaching pictures etc.

Sort of FaceTime / Skype for the texting fraternity. You can also phone with it but I haven't tried using it as when contacting anyone abroad I use FaceTime. Not sure if calls cost money but assume not?
