Golf Monthly Mag - better for the changes ?

Interested to hear what you think of the newly designed Golf Monthly magazine ?

Still too much advertising, some of it not even golf related !!

I purchased the last two months issues but still feel i get 20% interest from the articles and tips the rest i have little interest in so unlikley to continue to buy apart from at airport reading perhaps

Last time i made my opinions known regardng the magazine i was heavily slated, i think they have an impossible task to offer less advertising as its the advert revenue that pays their wages etc

Out of curiosity Wolfman are you wanting less adverts or more copy. I mean if you got the same amount of copy but with less adverts would you be happy? From your comment it sounds as though you think there should be more content as well

I like it. Surely its a double edged sword and without the adverts, costs go up as revenue goes down and lets not forget it's a business and in competition. I think if you compare the content v advert with the likes of Todays Golfer and even Golf World GM would murder the former hands down and would be pretty much on a par with the latter. Don't forget also, there is a juggling act as the bigger the copy the more it costs to produce.

didnt really pay attention to the change to be fair jus read it like normal. Standard flick through but read things which really catch my eye then sit down in couple days and read the whole mag properly in the van
Gotta say i loved the thing about how often you should change you gear i made sure HID seen me looking at that and then told her what new clubs i am thinking about getting as i am "due a change" haha

To be honest I think these golf mags just regurgitate the same old stuff especially the instruction pages.

I don't like the new layout,way too many lines on each page and very annoying.

Unfortunately I forgot to cancel my dd for my subscription so I've got another 12 issues to come.
