Anyone follow the betting tips on the website?

noticed this weekend the main tips were Matsuyama e/w at 22/1 and Sullivan e/w in Dubai at 30/1.

Pretty good going, and a bit unlucky not to get 2 big-priced winners.

Yeah I follow them but they're hit and miss, like all betting tips!

Personally I don't consider those big odds, there are guys winning and placing every other week at 80/1+. You'll always get excellent players at 22 or 30, trouble is if they don't win (like Andy, that gets slashed to 4 or 5/1, and if they share a place it gets divided again. Often if you had put £3 down each way (£6 stake) someone at those odds could place and you'd win £3. If you're in the mood for big money with those guys you can place doubles, but be aware that if they don't both win, you only get the place. So if you had £1 on on Andy and Matsuyama double and both won you'd have pocketed £660 (30 x 22). This weekend, because Andy placed it would have been more like £40, if that. Sickener!

Horses for courses, some guys like to bet big on shorter odds, personally I go for longer odds and hope they place, every now and then one wins and it's a big pay day for a small stake. The best advice you can take is your own, follow the form, look at the course form, read the tips but make your own call, at least then you can only blame yourself.

Spot the idiot who cashed out on Matsuyama for a fraction of his stake after Fowler's tee shot on 16.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard luck, no one could have predicted Rickie would have such a lapse of judgement. I was offered a generous cash out on Els and Porteus that in hindsight I should have cashed, but hey, when you see the projected winnings it's hard to make yourself!

I thought I had left it as late as possible to at least get some money back with Fowler 2 ahead and in pretty tight on 16. But there you go, expect the unexpected.
