Who knows what the new year will bring. Might even get the first edition of my golf magazine sorted and out into the big wide world. Buy GM for obvious reasons and Golf World cos it is a decent read. I do try and get a look at Today's Golfer as I do like to see how they can possibly come up with another piece of Cally, TM, Ping or Nike gear to review and get excited about. I also want to see if they are ever going to expand their reader testing panel outside the confines of Peterborough and surrounding hamlets.

No wonder their website is powered by candle, and if it were a written piece would be in crayon and not in joined up writing. I like their forum though as its great to see care in the community making a difference!

I read Bunkered when am in my barbers. I go every 4 weeks for a trim, the hair cut is £6 and because he is busy I can usually read all the bits I would want to read so I worked it out that my haircut costs £2.50.

To be honest, its aptly named. I feel the mag is stuck in a rutt and has been for 3 or 4 years.

What was the magazine thet eventually evolved into Todays Golfer ? Was it Fore ? It was cringeworthy whatever it was. Trying to play to the masses and not being as "stuck up" as G M or Golf World. Didn't rate it at all. Still don't particularly like Todays Golfer for the same reasons.

I must confess I used to read TG, this was because I used to advertise a product in it. (I'm going back 8-10 years now)

Since coming onto the GM forums I have now seen the light, so please forgive me for my sins, and I will be subscribing to GM in the new year.

I bought all 4 mags listed last year when I went into hospital for an op. The only one I continue to purchase is GM. Golf Punk was a complete waste of money, the other two were OK, but no better than GM, I can't see any reason to buy 3 golf mags a month, especially when there is a fair bit of duplication between them during the year.

As an alternative or addition to GM, I enjoy Golf International. It's not a monthly, but is more 'column' based than most other reads, and their recent instructional articles have been exceptional, IMO.

Too right, Mawgan. Golf International is very good and has great instruction (Pete Cowan especially). However, it is often full of typos and design errors.

Hi Happless, just one point.
The only golf mag we (ie IPC) publish is Golf Monthly
Bauer (formerly EMAP) publish Golf World and TG
Golf International and Golf Punk are published by small independents

I only ever buy golf monthly. I have a yearly subscription and it itches my golf 'reading' scratch perfectly of a month. I don't have time to broaden my reading horizons.

no apology needed! I just wanted to clear up any confusion that the GM boys might be involved in another golf mag! We are all 100% GM, indeed all of us were readers before we started working on the mag. Jezz even wrote a letter in to GM that was published in the early 90s long before he worked here!

I think Homer is looking at sneaking in through that very same door. On a similar note Mike, I have tested for you guys so if any vacancies arise in that area, you have my number! :D

There seem to be certain golfing publications left out. Infact One of those left out Golf International is another UK mag, which I also rate. Don't generally buy the American mags like Golf Digest. I used to buy Golf Pages & rate it very highly before they stopped doing it in the UK.
