Hello!

Going through a bit of a slump at the minute. I'm chewing my pride and going to book a few lessons. I have previously headed up to Matfen Hall but if anything I went backwards.

Has anyone else had a good experience with lessons elsewhere?

Thanks!

Brian Ridley at Beamish has got a few good reports from various people within the forum.

I used to get lessons from Phil Carlaw at Phillips golf in Burradon, the factory units next to the Fenwicks warehouse, he's very good, albeit his lesson are on a launch monitor only.

Steve McKenna -- City of Newcastle
John McKenna -- Tynemouth
Marcus Webb -- Bedlington
Andy Paisley -- Hexham

All of the above have good credentials, working county level coaching too.

At the end of the day, a good coach, is more down to personal preference and needs, I think it's a lot to do with actually being able to communicate and understand their methods of teaching and explaining.

My son has lessons at Parklands ( Gosforth park ) with Craig Fetherston.
He feels he explains things in a way that make it real easy to grasp, so enjoys his coaching style above others he's been to.
He's also dropped from about 18 to 11 in last 12 months, so happy:thup:

Simon Robinson at sharpley and Boldon. Very good and a simplistic style.

I think like a few others have said its personal choice, I like Simon because he tries to 'coach' as opposed to just telling you what you should do.

Mark Rayson, I used to get lessons off him at ramside hall when I was a member there, I found him to be a good coach, easily understood, clear objectives, went from 17 to 10 whilst there and found a more consistent swing, also did video analysis which I find beneficial.
