I just wanted to know if anyone had experience of the Birmingham Golf School in the city centre. The only reason I ask is that it is close to where I work and means I can walk down in my lunch hour.

I am realtively new to golf, contemplating taking lessons to start me off on the right foot. At the moment I believe they are offering a free introductory lesson.

Its an indoor place which uses golf software to analyse the swing, Im just concerned as Im just beginning that it may be a bit too technical?

If anyone has experience of the place I would be pleased to know. they do have a website (www.birminghamgolfschool.co.uk) which looks pretty friendly, as well as an opportunity to sign up for the free lesson online.

Any advice is welcomed.

Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne and welcome to the forum.
If it's close to your work and it's free, give it a bash.
Do you have a friend who can go with you, might make it more fun :)

Hi,

my brother is going to play golf in Birmingham on june, and he's looking for a hotel to stay.

Where is he playing? I stay overnight around Birmingham sometimes when it's easier than driving home late and back the next day early. There's two cheap ones on Bristol Road just down from the centre. I think Fort Dunlop is a Travelodge now too.

Hi,

thanks a lot for your tips :). he's going to play at Hartchford brook golf course. i will check if your hostels are close to it.

see ya!

I think you may mean Hatchford Brook. This is located right next to Birmingham International Airport, so close in fact the 4th and 5th fairway run alongside the runway.

No problem with hotels also plenty of Guest Houses and B&B's within minutes.
