Not sure if it's entirely permissable to discuss other golf periodicals here, but there hasn't been a new issue of Golf International in months and months. they're still tweeting, but the website looks out of date.

looks to me like they have joined Golf Illustrated and Golfpunk in the recycling bin...

Shame as they offered something a little different from the 3 main titles.

Anyone heard anything more concrete?

At least they didn't abscond with my subscription like one of the above....

GolfPunk is very active- publishing fortnightly as far as I can see- its a good read with 'good' pictures:smirk:

From the GI web site

To all golfing colleagues, supporters and friends of Gi...
As most of you are aware Golf International has been an independent title since its launch in 1997. Now, 124 issues down the line, we have been approached by two publishing houses in the UK with a view to take the business forward and increase frequency and distribution of Gi in 2015 & beyond.
The immediate impact of these on-going negotiations is that we have have taken the decision to suspend publication of issue 125 while we consider fully the options put in front of us. Our intention is to publish post Ryder Cup, rounding out 2014, before we then increase our frequency in the New Year.
Full details of our schedule – along with what are exciting plans for the magazine and its digital components – will be circulated just as soon as all the decisions that need to be made are finalised.
In the meantime, all of us here at Gi would like to thank you for your support of our title and we look forward to sharing our plans over the coming weeks.
Best wishes,
Richard

Also Golf Punk is an free online magazine only now. It's actually quite a decent read.

Yup, their interview with Blair O'Neal was very good. And you say they also published some pictures? Must of missed them. ;)

thanks hacker - i looked at the website but didn't find that. i suppose we'll just have to see what transpires.

i'm hopeful, but a little sceptical about that statement. "consider fully the options put in front of us" - sounds like the magazine equivalent of leaving to spend more time with the family...

i might look into what golfpunk are producing now, but i'm still disgruntled that i lost £ when they went bust the first time.

I need to check but I had a subscription for Gi for my dad, which I'm sure I renewed, but then received no mags. Going to have to dig out the bank statements to be sure, but the above would explain why he's not been getting them.

Of all the mags out there I gound GI the heaviest going of them all. Have to be honest I have missed the return of GolfPunk and will check it out again. I wonder who the two offers on the table are from?

I had Golf Illustrated and only got about 6 copies but found them interesting and different from the normal repeatable yearly golf mags we get.

A strange fish, Golf International. Some good golf instruction and coverage but mixed in with reviews of Bentleys and advice on buying antique collectible golf stuff.

they only issued 7 copies before they stopped. yes it was a very nicely produced magazine, refreshing not to have instruction pages and the waffling reviews of new gear and overseas courses.

couldn't make it work financially though, clearly it is the money paid for waffling reviews of new gear and overseas courses that keeps a golf mag going...

Yeah shame it couldn't carry on, there were some good articles and write ups with quality pictures.
