Golf International Mag.

Just a wee post to see if any fellow forummers read this?

I was given a heads up by a mate that it was a good mag so bought it for the plane for my trip away over New Year and I have to say it blows the rest in the market place out of sight!

Some really good in depth articles, very little in advertising compared to the rest and the best part for me is that....now I will try not to sound up my arse hear guys...the instruction pieces seem to be aimed at the better player and not just the old 'grip it this way, flex your knees etc etc'....very very good instruction details indeed. An interesting part on Wentworths changes (the 18th is very different now!) and some other good wee bits of gossip.

Think it will be a regular purchase!

I get most issues mainly for something different to read on the daily commute. I agree that it does have some pretty good stuff in especially the tuition. It is a little more "strait forward" than GM and lacks something in layout and styling. For me it lacks badly in equipment reviews and there isn't any real interaction with their readers

Im a sucker for buying magazines so much so that it has nearly become obsessive..... Iv got about 4 for every 1 of HID'S O.K.,Hello,or Cosmo......But...My new years resolution is to knock them on the head and save the shillings as on recommendation from another forummer i picked up a copy of the book "Dream On" and,in it i read that some magazines have alot of conflicting information in them that is normally only divided by some advertising so as to try and throw off the reader which more often than not succeeds in its task....I have bought my last mag today Golf World as it has the complete fixture list for the coming season....... Now im not tarring all these mags with the same brush hence the reason im on this forum and if i like the contents of a certain month of GM i will buy it but im on a mission not to overload my mind with too much instruction.....What im really after is a very good book(not found yet i might add) that i can relate to over and over so that im just getting 1 piece of information at any one time and im not getting conflicting stories from x,y,z.

I don't read the instruction bits, as they don't interest me. However, I like a magazine to be a magazine. Lots of variety, some interesting interviews / editorials, a good gear review, and a few suprises. And for me, GM fits the bill fine. TG sucks, Golf World is ok, but my Dad gets it and gives it to his mate (fine, but I buy mags for him to read too when he comes round).

I always subscribe to the mags, some of the offers, free balls and the like mean you effectively get the mag free.

I subsribe,it's a decent read and the free balls made it an easy choice. Think they're doing 9 issues this year, must be a Ryder Cup special issue or something similar
