I watch the internet instruction videos such as those on YouTube and GM. However, sometimes you can't beat a good old book.
Been looking at buying the Dave Pelz Putting Bible. Any opinions? Is it worth a punt.?
Also considering a mind coach book. Seen the Rotella Your 15th Club.

Are they both worth a look at or any better recommendations?

I've got the Dave Pelz putting bible and I don't know if you have got his short game bible or not but he goes into a lot of detail which is very interesting about stuff that I hadn't even given a thought to.

You will definitely increase your knowledge of greens, putters, sight lines etc but wether or not it will improve your overall putting is down to you and what effort you are prepared to put into his methods of improving.

Still a good book and I'm glad I bought it.

A good all round book is the David Ledbetter golf faults and fixes, describes the fault then offers tips on how to overcome them.

The Tom Watson book and DVD , lessons of a lifetime is good for going back to basics ( which we all need to do from time to time ) with good illustrations and easy to understand concepts .

The best one for me though has to be the Dave Pelz short game bible, it has knocked a good deal of shots per round off my game.

I quite liked the Pelz short game book, not really a fan of the psychology style books, it's the same guff repeated in different ways in my opinion. I've read a few but a guy I played in comp summed it up for me one day when I wasn't playing well, "relax and enjoy it or do something else, not like this pays your mortgage". If hitting abad shot upsets you so much that you can't focus on the next shot you should reconsider your hobby imho.

The colin montgomerie book is quite good but don't see it much now, try not to laugh at the chapter on keeping yourself fit !

I gave up on pelz after a chapter, to heavy going. Harvey pennicks little red book is a good read.

Can't beat some of the old books before they got too complicated and over thinking the game.

John Jacobs practical golf was and still is to a certain extent my bible. Easy instruction with explanatory drawings.

The best book that I have EVER read and still have is "The Plane Truth" by Jim Hardy. This book has made ALL the difference to me it explains all the contradictions made in golf teachings. It fits the golf swing into 2 separate models either 1 plane swing or 2 plane swing.
Until I read this I could not understand why I couldn't improve.
This book has really shown me the light :swing::D
