Hi guys! We are planning to take a trip to Spain this autumn, to play golf in Andalucia, particularly Cadiz area. Any of you played golf here? Any particular golf courses you recommend? Also, we´re looking to arrange the trip with a local Spanish travel agency, any recommendations? Thanks!

If you plan on venturing as far as Roquetas De Mar there is a nice course there called Playa Serena. I played there last year and am going to play a couple of times when I'm away next month. Is it anything special - no, but I enjoyed my round.

I was there for a short trip based in Novo Sancti Petri which has a couple of decent courses and a nice range with excellent putting green and decent short game area. Would highly recommend getting to Jerez and playing Montecastillo but make sure you have a buggy. Categorically unwalkable

Thanks Hosel! Did you manage your trip on your own, or did you book the trip through an agency? We are looking for a locally based travel agency as I feel it will give us a more genuine sense of that area, both for golfing as well as visiting and sight-seeing Cadiz.

Family friend of ours runs a travel agency in Germany so they sorted it. Went with my dad.Ended up in a hotel with breakfast and dinner included and got a rental car, everything outside the hotel and tee times we sorted ourselves.

I would also recommend Montecastillo, it's a fabulous course with a particularly spectacular 18th tee position.
The only issue I have is that you are not allowed to walk the course unless you tee-off from 11.00am onwards, which I find particularly galling!
It's a great course though.
To call it 'Categorically unwalkable' is just wrong!

Montecastillo is awesome as mentioned. Montenmedio worth a shout too. Nice challenging course, tree-lined in sections with some fantastic holes.

Its at least a mile (no hyperbole) of green to tee transitions on top of being very very hilly. I just don't see how it would be in any way enjoyable to walk

Maybe I just enjoy walking and I really don't enjoy using a buggy.
Whilst carrying, we're always aware of people behind & some of the walks are a perfect opportunity to let faster groups through.
Okay, it makes the round a bit longer, but hey, we're on holiday and what better place is there to be than a golf course ........................ especially with the frequent sound track of cars or bikes pounding round the race circuit next door!
As long as we're able, we'll walk Montecastillo ................. it's beautiful.
