Hi 1st post here and I am after some help please?

Playing Dalmahoy next week and I am looking to play somewhere the following day, had a look at North Berwick and Gullane so far. Any other recomendations?

Hi Peteg,
You are spoilt for choice. Do a search under "Edinburgh" You'll be surprised. ;)
What type of course do you like? Links, Heathland, Parkland etc. How much do you want to pay? Where are you staying?
All these will let us narrow down your choice.

Its not 100% links golf but I would recommend Longniddry.

Its usually in great condition with superb greens.

You also have Kilspindie which is shorter but also nice and more on the Firth of Forth.

Hope these two suggestions help, however if you decide to go inland at Edinburgh instead I would strongly recommend both Mortonhall and Duddingston. Both beautiful tracks.

These two are a great option if its really blowing and the links golf may be in doubt.

Hope that helps.

Some decent suggestions, although I'm no fan of either Kilspindie (too many members, always find it a bit tatty) or Duddingston ( greens can be patchy) Longniddry is pretty nice and mortonhall very unforgiving so if the 'A' game isnt there it can be a bit of a slog.

Gullane 2, The Glen, Dunbar,Craigielaw all good.Inland I'd suggest Whitekirk, quite challenging and reasonable price.

Played duddingston last night and my suggestion about the greens being patchy was the understatement of the year.No-one in the pro shop mentioned they had killed half the greens with the wrong fertiliser and had chucked about a ton of sand on each green.Disgraceful, avoid at all costs for at least two months.

PS, enjoy gullane 2, my personal favourite course.
