I'm working in and around Leeds all next week staying in Batley. I've got a some free time so am thinking of a round of golf. Can anyone suggest somewhere decent, £20-£30 green fee.

On the map I can Howley Hall, The Manor, Middleton Park, South Leeds. Actually, there's lots of choice hence my question!

Cheers.

Never played The Manor but it looks decent but your best course would probably be Cleckheaton at the bottom of the M606.

Which days are you thinking? If you need a playing partner I may be able to get over but depends on work.

Its worth the extra drive to get to Alwoodley or Moortown, play on the twilight fee and its around £50.

I know its above the amount you said, but trust me its worth every single penny!! came back on Weds from 4 days up there. Amazing courses.

Used to be a member at Cleckheaton a few years ago and can honestly say it's a cracking course possibly slightly let down by being so close to the motorway network, but having said that you don't notice it as much when you go to the holes on the other side of the old railway. Howley Hall is a very good track, The Manor is OK, parts of South Leeds GC are nice with some parts not so nice. Middleton Park was shut down by the council earlier this year or the back end of last year. Low Laithes is also a nice track in that sort of area but IRC get quite boggy in parts if there's been any substanial rain

Thursday I am free all day.

I'm happy to play at Horsforth it's only 40 mins from the hotel. Also Clackheaton would be fine with the motorway noise as my place it right next to the M20 in Kent.

How did Fulford fare compared to the others?

Well........

We were supposed to play their Monday morning and then Moortown in the afternoon. However, we didn't get in until 5:30am (leeds has a good night life), so we cancelled!

The good news is that its a reason to go back and play Fulford, Ilkley and Lindrick on the way up!

I would seriously recommend a trip to leeds and the surrounding area to everyone, very few people would consider a golf trip there, but Alwoodley, Moortown and Ganton were all very different and we all amazing.

Hallamshire in Sheffield (where Matt Fitzpatrick is from) is also a very good golf course!

Playing football straight from work on Thursday so can't make that. What time would you be finished in an afternoon? If you look on teeofftimes there are always deals on Cleckheaton and Horsforth. Horsforth is really good, really enjoyable course that runs right next to the airport.

Cleackheaton is sound.middleton is closed down.south Leeds not bad just in wrong area,Told lots of story's about players been shot at(air rifles).kids nicking ball ect ect. There is oulton hall just off junction 30.3 loops of nine.should be easy get on.If going after work the ones in north Leeds are to far. From Batley you can add on 45 minutes easy. And low laithes j 40 off m1.

Will be good to know what Cleckheaton was like as I think there has been a number of changes since I was last there including a pond in front of the 11th green I think
