Anybody ever played in Gran Canaria? I'm heading there for a week soon and wouldn't mind getting a game over there. I'll be staying fairly close to the Puerto Rico area.

Had a quick look at the courses nearby and it seems pretty pricey (90-100 euro per game, + 20 euro club hire and 10 buggy).

Any advice much appreciated!

I've played at Maspalomas golf course, well established and wide open fairways. One of the newer ones, Salobre golf was quite good, playing amongst the volcanic rocks. Think I read somewhere that they've built another 18 holes.

I've left the best till last, the much talked about, Anfi Tauro. Built in and around the mountains and not far from Puerto Rico. I haven't played it yet but will be in July when on holiday. If you haven't already, google Anfi Tauro golf.

HTH.

played anfi last july, good course but very hilly and i played without a cart i think it still needed a bit of work to it. I think it was about 60/70 euro cant really remember but the staff was first class from start to finish i would definetly recommend it some really great holes.

Thanks lads... Anfi looks pretty stunning! I think i'll have to have a bash at that one. It's very close to the villa i'll be staying in too so happy days.

Just wondering though, should i take a pair of golf shoes with me? I'll just hrie clubs while i'm out there, but i'm guessing i'd be required to wear golf shoes and wouldn't fancy wearing someone else's much?

i took my own golf shoes and hired clubs but the service is first class so i dont think it would be a problem if you didny take your shoes

hey Champ, are you getting in on the GM photo shoot then?

the pro at my club let on that he was headed out that way in the next week or so (followed by a week in Spain/Portugal with the England youth squad)
